A recurring batch of the questions we get most often, answered plainly. We'll add to this post over time rather than starting a new one for every round of questions.
"Is the hardware definitely coming?"
No — and we want to be direct about that. Nintendo has confirmed an Ocarina of Time remake is in development. Nothing about special-edition hardware has been officially confirmed; it's leaked, not announced. Full breakdown in our main roundup.
"Why do you keep saying it might not even be Ocarina-specific?"
Because some of the sourcing we've seen describes the leaked hardware as general Zelda 40th-anniversary branding rather than tied to this one game specifically, and those aren't necessarily the same product. We think that distinction gets flattened a lot in casual discussion, so we keep restating it. More on this in our fact-check post.
"When will we get an official date?"
We don't know, and be skeptical of anyone who tells you they do with certainty. Our best guess, based on historical patterns rather than any inside knowledge, is a Direct or game-specific showcase — see our explainer on that format — but "our best guess" is doing a lot of work in that sentence.
"Should I wait to buy a Switch, or get one now?"
Genuinely depends on your patience and whether owning a Switch now matters to you independent of this specific rumor. If you're only interested in a Switch because of this hardware specifically, waiting is the more collector-consistent choice; if you want to actually play games on it now, there's no strong reason tied to this rumor to hold off.
"How do I send you a tip or correction?"
We don't have a public tip line set up at this stage of the site — check the About page for the most current way to reach us. If you spot something in a post that's outdated or wrong, we'd genuinely rather hear about it than have it sit uncorrected.
"Are you affiliated with Nintendo in any way?"
No. This is an independent fan project, not an official source, not a store, and not press with any special access. Everything here is our own reading of public information — see how we built this tracker for more on how we approach that.
